Yeah I don’t think I’d buy a Mac either just for that. I think I would totally get into Coda if I could afford it. My lifestyle doesn’t necessarily enable me to spend money on stuff all the time – see http://www.marcandkatie.co.za

@Marc Haha crazy indeed! TextMate is pretty awesome but I wouldn’t buy a Mac just to use it. There are many other fine text editors on both Mac and PC. I’m very much a fan of Coda myself.

@Zee Thanks for the comment Thats pretty awesome re Code Barrel. I love the idea of being able to grab your snippets elsewhere. I’m often jumping from one computer to the next so to be able to do that quickly and easily from where ever I am would be awesome!

Thanks Jon for the post.
Today I was putting a little ad on FB and they offer me 25 credits for games or something.
So I didn’t clicl on it…sad. I could’ve saved some money on my ad.
Yes I have given my cc details to FB…
I have a business page and the ads attract business and are really affordable. So why not?
I always trust that being such a huge site they have to be very serious about security and they are probably better now after the outcry than many others.
Living in fear is not good for my health.

I guess the html entities aren’t on purpose?

Some of the tips are really great but some things, I like to do my way. But it’s a “style guide”, so everyone can decide, what they want to use or not. Great article!

That’s nice style guide, but it’s highly subjective. It’s YOUR style. Every programmer has own style, and this is just how YOU write code. The only rule here is that one MUST have coding style, or everything will become screwed someday.

Great article! While I agree with most of your points, I personally don’t like how you formatted class names. I prefer a hybrid of CamelCaps and underscores: Class_Name or App_Class_Name.

I do so so that class names stand out from functions.

e.g.
$db = mysql_connect(…);
$result = mysql_query(…);
$result = new Mysql_Result($db);

With only coding in what app, which is TextMate, I haven’t found a good use for the other stand-alone snippet apps really. I’ve just made a section of snippets in TextMate when I add my own random ones. I’ve heard of people buying Mac’s just to use TextMate. Crazy eh?
